Deep Links, Embed Codes, and LTI Links

Follow

There are three types of links provided on the admin dashboard, for use when integrating content in your LMS, LibGuides, or other library website. These links are what you should use for student access to the content.

Lists of links can be found by navigating to Instructor > Link Constructor on your admin dashboard. For detailed instructions on how to use the Link Constructor, see here.

Deep links and embed codes authenticate via proxy, IP, or referring URL authentication, depending on which method(s) your institution uses. LTI links authenticate automatically when used properly in an LTI integration.

Please note: LTI integration is an option for Credo InfoLit only; Credo View customers will have access to Deep Links (Direct Links) and Embed Codes, but not LTI Links.

Deep Links: Also called Direct Links, these are permalinks to each test, quiz, video, and tutorial in InfoLit. These can be used exactly like any other hyperlink in your LibGuides, LMS, or other websites.

At the top of the list there is a whole course link, which can be used to direct students to the content outline on our platform.

If you use a proxy for remote access, make sure to add your proxy prefix in the appropriate field in the Link Constructor.

Embed Codes: We also provide an iframe embed code for each piece of content. These are the same URLs as used by the deep links, but formatted into an embed code for you. You can add these to a LibGuide as a Media/Widget item or within the HTML of a content page on an LMS or other website.

LTI Links: Each piece of InfoLit content has a unique LTI launch URL; these are intended only for use in an LTI integration. (If you copy-paste one into your browser address bar and try to use it like a typical web link, you'll see an error message.) For more information about LTI and whether this integration is right for you, see here.
