June 2023 Update: InfoLit – Core Content

Follow

As we do each year, we have developed new multimedia for InfoLit – Core. The topics for these pieces of multimedia are selected based on feedback from customer surveys and conversations to ensure that we are best meeting the needs of our users. You should see the new content in your course starting the week of May 15, 2023. The changes are as follows:

New Material

In the Evaluating Information section:

  • Fact-Checking (tutorial with video)
  • Evaluating Sources for Diverse Points of View (tutorial)

In the Visual and Quantitative Literacy section:

  • Intro to Geographic Literacy and Maps (tutorial with video)

In the Presenting and Organizing Information section:

  • Oral Communication (tutorial with video)

And on our Help Center, new materials for instructors will include three, full-length, suggested lesson plans for some of our most popular topics: Academic Integrity, Evaluating Sources, and News Literacy/Misinformation. Standards maps and teaching guides have also been updated to include material added in this update.

No materials are being retired with this content update.

We will roll out all of the new material for customers to preview during the week of May 15th. Beginning then, admin users of Credo InfoLit – Core will be able to view the new items in Studio at the bottom of their course in a section titled "InfoLit Summer 2023 Content Update."

Customers will have until June 15th to review the material and opt out if they would not like to receive this update, or to let us know that an earlier/later integration date for the new material is preferred. Otherwise, we will integrate the new materials into customer courses between June 16 and July 6, 2023.
