IP authentication allows users on your campus network to access Credo's platform seamlessly, without being prompted for log-in credentials. We associate the IP addresses used by your network with your account, so that our system recognizes users coming from your campus and authenticates them. Most institutions choose this authentication method for their on-campus users; it can be used alongside your chosen off-campus authentication method, such as EZ Proxy, WAM Proxy or referring URL authentication.
We currently support access for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Please note that, if your institution network uses IPv6 addresses, you must provide them to us for your access to work.
Adding and Updating IP Ranges for your Account
To update the IP addresses for your account, simply email our support team at support@credoreference.com with the information. IPs cannot be added or changed on your admin dashboard.
Please make sure to notify us when your IP addresses change to ensure uninterrupted access for your users.
How to Find Your IP Address
Your institution's technical team/IT department should be able to provide a full list of all IP ranges in use at your institution. If you have provided the full list to us but are still experiencing on-campus access issues, it's possible that some IP addresses have been left out.
To check the IP address being used by a particular device on your network, there are many web services you can use to identify this information. Often you can search for "what is my IP" in a search engine from the impacted device, or go directly to a site such as this one: https://www.whatismyip.com/
This will return the IP address in use by the impacted device, which may be left out of the list we have on file. You can send this information to support@credoreference.com to have it added to your account, and we also recommend checking with your technical/IT team to find out if there have been any recent changes or other omissions from the full list of IP ranges.
IPv6 Addresses
IPv6 is an IP address standard that supplements the most commonly used IPv4 standard. IPv4 addresses follow the format likely most familiar to you, like 135.84.57.36. IPv6 addresses look like this:

Not all networks use IPv6 addresses, but if your network does use them, we must have them associated with your account alongside your IPv4 addresses. If you're not sure if you use IPv6 addresses, you can use this link to check:
